ABOUT US
At Foothill Cardiology, our focus is on comprehensive cardiology care care. Our team of highly skilled cardiologists, trained in techniques to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease, staff our outstanding intervention program.
Our physicians are proficient in treating all coronary syndromes, angina pectoris, unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction as well as stable cardiac disease. We have twenty-four-hour availability for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction with primary angioplasty. Other cutting-edge treatments include transcatheter aortic valve replacement, coronary stenting and rotational atherectomy. Our cardiologists are able to treat straightforward single vessel disease as well as complex coronary lesion and triple vessel disease.

VASCULAR SERVICES
Atherosclerosis is not a disease
process that is exclusive to the heart. Diminished blood flow to the kidneys or extremities can be life threatening. Our peripheral vascular program provides multi-site testing by doppler and/or duplex evaluation. A cardiologist certified in peripheral vascular disease is available to diagnose and treat vascular disorders. Treatment of vascular disease may include angiography, angioplasty, and/or stenting to the renal circulation and extremities.
Benefits to patients include prompt access to diagnostic testing as well as consultation with a cardiologist specializing in peripheral vascular disease.
Other vascular services include:
• Angiography
• Peripheral Angioplasty
• Endovascular Stent Placement
• Rotational Atherectomy
• Exercise Echocardiography
• Carotid Ultrasound
• Venous Ultrasound
• Abdominal Ultrasound
• Arterial Ultrasound
• Vein Ablation
• ECP – Enhanced counter pulsation therapy

NUCLEAR IMAGING
A nuclear imaging study is one in which
a tracer substance is introduced into the blood stream and is visualized in the target organ. Nuclear scans of the heart and kidneys can be performed. Highly trained nuclear technologists staff our test centers. Supervision of the cardiac scans is under the direction of a cardiologist. A board-certified radiologist and cardiologist, who specialize in nuclear medicine, interpret these nuclear scans, assuring the most accurate readings of these highly sensitive tests.
Services Include:
• Nuclear Stress Test
• Exercise and Pharmacological Nuclear Imaging
• Cardiac - PET/CT

EP STUDIES
Our cardiac electrophysiologists perform electrophysiologic studies (EPS) to
determine exactly the rhythm irregularities of the heart. Symptoms of a heart rhythm problem can include the following:
• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Fainting Spells
• Palpitations (a fluttering, strong
and/or fast heart beat)
A serious heart rhythm problem can stop the heart from pumping blood. This life threatening condition is known as cardiac arrest. Our cardiac electrophysiologists are trained to identify patients at risk of cardiac arrest. Our cardiac electrophysiology department provides comprehensive evaluation and management of cardiac rhythm disorders including:
• EPS and Ablation
• Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) Ablation
• Atrial Flutter Ablation
• Atrial Fibrillation Ablation

CLINICAL RESEARCH
Preventive cardiology and clinical
research make available the latest
techniques developed for the treatment of heart disease. Many exciting tools have been made available through our research and clinical care programs that help patients prevent, and in some cases, reverse heart disease. Some of our programs have offered an alternative to angioplasty and bypass surgery through aggressive cholesterol reduction and lifestyle changes. Research projects include pharmaceutical trials, clinical outcome studies, and cardiac device trials. Our unique offering of multi-site group research covers a base much broader than is possible to obtain within a single hospital setting.
Benefits to patients include the availability of screening for protocol criteria and regular visits to the cardiologist during the protocol period.
